Magnus Carlsen is a Chess Grand Champion and is the #1 Ranked Chess Player in the world. Magnus was born in Tønsberg, Norway to parents who were both engineers.

According to Norwegian Chess Coach Simen Agdestein Carlsen showed an aptitude for intellectual challenges at a young age ; At two years, he could solve 50-piece jigsaw puzzles; at four, he enjoyed assembling Lego sets with instructions intended for children aged 10–14.

Now that we have built a tiny bit of a background (a very tiny bit) lets take a look at Magnus Carlsen on Deck...

First and foremost I do NOT have the exact time of his birth therefore we will be using a sunrise chart for his birth place in Tønsberg Norway. Due to the fact we dont have an exact birth time we will use the common card associated with his November 30th Birthday which is a 3♥️ (the 1st of only 2; 3♥️ days in the entire calendar year, 11/30, 12/28).

He showed signs of having a knack for construction and mentally taxing games at a very young age. Born with Mars in Tropical Gemini and its dispositor Mercury in Tropical Sagittarius, its no wonder he showed the mental dexterity he did and the ability to stretch his mind from very early on.

When looking at the hand he was dealt we see immediately his birth card occupies the 1st square on the shuffle board which just so happens to be the Mercury, Mercury position. (Mercury Row/Mercury Column). When we highlight some of the other cards in his hand we see he has the Ace of Clubs Mercury Card, which points to one who has insatiable curiosity, a sharp mind and an uncanny ability to process information very quickly. He also has the 5♣️ as his Personality Card under the rulership of Jupiter(he's a Sag ♐️) which would indicate the ability for quick mental responses and the gift of a stable mind (4♣️ +KC)

His father taught him to play chess at the age of 5, although he initially showed little interest in the game. Sibling rivalry (**Mars in Gemini) was the reason he decided to take up the game. Looking at Age 5 for the 3♥️ it shows he bolstered the Mighty A♠️in the Long Range Position (which happens to also be his natal Uranus Card). There is actually a ton going on in this Age 5 Spread for the 3♥️ but in the interest of time we will just name a few 🤔. At age 5 Magnus Carlsen sat at the table with the 8♦️ (the Crowned Sun Card) in Mercury, Vertical K♠️in Jupiter, and an A♠️in Saturn that year. Around this same time period the Progressed Sun would form an exact trine aspect to its dispositor, his Natal Jupiter in Tropical Leo. I say all that to say this was a relatively "fated" lineup especially for activities involving the mind, expansion, and learning a discipline that would ultimately be life changing.

In November 2013, just prior to his birthday he would become the youngest player ever to win the world chess championship. At the time he was in his Neptune period and rode the K♣️ wave 🌊 all the way to the champioSHIP.

Fast forward to today The 2016 World Chess Championship was held in New York City, after 12 games of standard matches taking place between November 11th and November 28th, Carlsen was locked in a 6-6 tie. On November 30th he would ultimately break that tie as well as celebrate his 26th birthday by sealing his 3rd world chess championship 🏆. He had a nice little 4♦️/2♦️combo complementing him in his Mercury season as he brought in the new year and retained his world title.

So why in the Deck did I decide to do a profile on this Magnus Carlsen, well I too have a pretty puzzle savvy Sagittarius in the home who happens to have just turned 5 and I'm excited to introduce the game of chess to him. Came across this young man and was impressed with the way he was playing his hand do I had to further investigate.

Also interesting to note the chess board is 8X8 (64 squares) and Mercury which rules the mind and the hands has an cyclical relationship with the sun of 88 days. #IFLM (I.Fucking.Love.Metaphysics) excuse my French.
