The theme of Spring is rebirth and renewal! Spring kicks off the earth's new year as we see the planet burst forth with life aided by the (Water) showers of spring. Plants are beginning to bud and bloom adorned with brilliant colors, the animals are energized, passion is high, and love is in the air. Spring indicates new beginnings, love, relationships, childhood, and growth.

Summer is the time when daylight hours are the longest, the earth is full of light. Light has always been associated with consciousness and intelligence. Summer is a time of fun, exploration, and creative expression. School's out and the environment takes the lead role of teacher as children gain knowledge through communication and physical activity. Summer is full of life, and youthful laughter is everywhere (Air). Summer represents adolescence where we add our lessons and learn through experience, trial and error.

Autumn is a time of great change and preparation.  Harvest is among us and we enjoy the fruits of our labor here. It is a time of abundance and prosperity, where barter, trade and commerce are the theme. The day and night hours are the same indicating harmony, symmetry, balance, and beauty. Autumn represents the maturing sun (consciousness/intelligence) and adulthood where we become sound and grounded (Earth) in our values.

Alas, Winter the time when the sun and thus our vitality is at its lowest point. Most wildlife has taken refuge or garnered extra protection for the harsh times ahead. Life is now calm and quiet so winter is a time of great self-reflection. Winter represents labor and health; normal tasks require more time, energy, and effort. Our health is also at risk due to a lack of sunlight; our whole lifestyle has drastically changed. Winter is indicative of our old age and wisdom, for we have seen the cycle of life come near to a completion. Man's use of Fire helps him survive the chill of winter, symbolically the fire within burns bright with determination to endure the labor at hand.
